Empowering Communities Through Food and Care

If you eat three meals a day, you don’t just have food. You have a life many pray for. We often take our meals for granted: the warm plate waiting at the table, the ease of choosing what to eat, or the ability to ignore leftovers. Behind every plate you throw away, millions in our country are fighting for it.

Do you know India still struggles deeply with food scarcity and malnutrition? More than 170 million people remain undernourished as of 2025 and while things have improved, the gap remains wide.

Also, would you believe that almost half of the Indian population wants to eat better but is unable to do so? Rising food prices have pushed nearly 43% of Indians out of reach of a healthy diet.

The harsh reality doesn’t just end here. Over 200 million people go to bed hungry every night. Some have never known what it feels like to be full. These might be the people we see daily in our streets or at the traffic light. They deserve the same basic dignity - a full stomach and a nourished body.

That’s why we at Venus Foundation decided to launch our Food Distribution Drive. It is not a one-time act of charity; it’s our promise to stand with those who’ve been left behind.

Ashiyana Child Care, Kakkar Majra

The Venus Foundation team visited Ashiyana Child Care in Kakkar Majra, Haryana. With cheerful smiles leading us, the team walked around to see the incredible creativity students poured into their art. It was overwhelming to notice that the children refused to let life’s challenges dim the spirit of their childhood.

The team cooked, served, and fed over 500 children. Needless to say, they enjoyed a full-course meal with joy, which was both heartwarming and a little sobering. The fact that they were eating far more than kids their age normally would was a quiet reminder of what they often go without.

Ending on a sweet note, our chairperson, Mrs Ekta Chaudhary, handed out chocolates and bananas for their evening snack, leaving with full hearts and a lot to think about.

We’re starting small, but we’re thinking big. Ending hunger would drive national progress by improving health, education, economic productivity, and social well-being.

We are doing our part by donating, volunteering, and spreading awareness. However, we cannot attain the zero hunger goal alone. But together, we can make sure no one goes to bed hungry.

So, we’re asking you to be part of this movement by volunteering your time, your skills, or your resources in any way you can. After all, food is the language of love!
